After many years of service, the old Dave Rayner website was no longer fit for purpose. Users weren't able to view correctly on mobile, page load was sluggish and the fund lacked a way to generate revenue through their own website - instead relying on third parties. The Rayner Fund set us the task of creating an online home for the fund, where supporters can purchase event tickets, buy merchandise and keep up to date with all the latest rider news.
The existing site admins were familiar with Wordpress and therefore we decided to develop the new website using the popular PHP Framework. We extensively used custom fields to customise the backend admin section, making it incredibly easy to edit content, such as rider questionnaires.
The new website offers up rich content, which looks great on any device - allowing users to purchase tickets while on the go and ultimately increase revenue. We rely heavily on several layers of caching to improve site performance, meaning rapid page loads even on 3G connection.
As well as designing and developing the new site, we will be providing site maintenance and content management for the fund - ensuring news is always relevant and up to date. Part of this will be continuing to develop the ECommence section of the website, which is still currently under development.
